Include All Girls Initiative

Girls at a Girl Scout Event

Erin is a 15-year-old who’s been a Girl Scout for much of her life. But until last spring, Erin – who has a physical disability – had never been able to take a hike with her fellow Scouts. As a result of training provided through the MEAF-funded Include All Girls Initiative, Scout leaders made a simple adjustment to her wheelchair, and Erin was off on her first overnight hiking trip. Erin said it was the most fun she’d ever had as a Girl Scout, and her friends agreed.

Grants

Through its National Grant program, MEAF provides funding to nonprofit organizations that are working toward the full inclusion of young people with disabilities in society. Proposed projects should be national in scope and impact or model projects that can be replicated at multiple sites.
